Pop-up Art in Laguna!

Alex Couwenberg at Peter Blake Gallery

Peter Blake Gallery just opened a pop-up gallery in South Laguna, open from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday through summer. It’s really an extension of his main gallery’s show, which explores trends in current California abstraction.

Peter Blake Gallery features modern and contemporary artists including Lita Albuquerque (currently showing at Laguna Art Museum), Peter Alexander, Charles Arnoldi, Tony Delap, Chris Gwaltney, Scot Heywood, Ed Moses, Andy Moses, Guillermo Bert.

The pop-up gallery is at 2894 South Coast Highway.

Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. Open Monday and Tuesday by appointment.

Free Mary Poppins!

Mary Poppins at Segerstrom Center for the Arts Plan on experiencing a free "Mary Poppins" mini-concert Wednesday at 1 p.m. at South Coast Plaza’s Carousel Court. Cast members from the smash hit musical "Mary Poppins" will be performing musical numbers from the show, opening at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts on July 14.

And before or after the show, take advantage of lunch specials at South Coast Plaza’s eateries that include the fast-casual noodle bar at AnQi, DG Burger, Lawry’s Carvery or Signature Kitchen at Macy's Home Store; or prix fixe fine dining choices at Marché Moderne, Charlie Palmer at Bloomingdale’s, or Pizza Ortica, Morton’s the Steakhouse and Royal Khyber Fine Indian Cuisine.
